Around the World in 23 Days
Over the span of 23 days, I circumnavigated the globe, stepped foot on every hemisphere, and visited three new countries (bringing my total up to 43). I made this trip in order to present at three new conferences โ Kiwi PyCon, PyCon Poland, and PyCon Estonia โ which happened to be taking place over three consecutive weeks.
EuroPython 2024 ๐จ๐ฟ
EuroPython 2024 was a conference of firsts for me: my first time presenting my new workshop on pre-commit hooks and my first time organizing a development sprint. During my time there, I was also feeling very creative and built out some new pages for my website. In this post, I share my experiences during this week.
PyCon Colombia 2024 ๐จ๐ด
My first time presenting in South America was a resounding success. In addition to giving a talk in the largest room I've presented in to date, I also delivered a workshop in one of the classrooms at the EAFIT university in Medellรญn โ all a part of PyCon Colombia 2024.
PyCon Italia 2024 ๐ฎ๐น
PyCon Italia holds a special place in my heart. Back in 2022, PyCon Italia was the first international conference to accept one of my proposals. This May marked my third year presenting at the event, which was once again in Florence. However, there was a big difference this time: instead of presenting a workshop, I delivered a talk on getting started in open source.
ODSC East 2024 ๐บ๐ธ
Back in 2021, ODSC invited me to present a workshop on pandas virtually at their Europe event. This was my first conference presentation ever, and despite presenting virtually, I was terrified. Thankfully, I made it through and eventually developed a passion for it, overcoming my fear. At this event, I delivered a talk and had a book signing.
